Bite the hemostatic tampon, which was placed by your dentist after your tooth was extracted, firmly and swallow as usual. Accumulation of saliva in mouth cavity and spitting continuously will hinder formation of blood clot and cause persistence of bleeding.

Blood oozing may last 6 hours to 24 hours after the procedure. Blood may change color of your saliva. Therefore, do not panic due to a concern of heavy bleeding. You may consult your dentist for this issue.

Do not smoke and consume alcohol for 24 hours after your tooth is extracted.

Do not drive immediately after the extraction, unless it is so necessary.

Place a high pillow under your head and rest for a while, if possible, after the tooth extraction. Avoid hot bath.

Continue your ordinary mouth care 24 hours after the tooth extraction.

You should contact your dentist in case of facial swelling and pain, bleeding persisting beyond 24 hours and bad taste and malodor in your mouth.
